Lower Cab Mount Cushion β smooth ride and solid alignment
This front lower cabin mount bushing sits between the ladder frame and the cab. It supports weight, centers the body, and filters shock and vibration. Without it, road harshness reaches the cabin, panels shift, and bolts take a beating.
Why you need it β
It keeps steering feel clean, doors aligned, and the dashboard rattle-free. Proper isolation also protects welds, glass, and interior trim from long-term stress, giving you quiet comfort and longer component life.
How it works
A durable rubber compound is bonded to a steel washer and sleeve. When the cab moves, the rubber works in compression and shear, damping shake before it gets inside. It pairs with the upper cushion and spacer; the center sleeve guides the mounting bolt and prevents metal-to-metal contact.
When it fails β οΈ
Clunks over bumps, vibration at idle, crooked gaps, steering column buzz, and uneven cab height at the corners. Left unchecked, it can oval the frame mount, loosen bolts, and misalign driveline and shifter.
Tech tips
Replace in pairs on the same crossmember, support the body safely, tighten at normal ride height, and inspect the upper cushion and bolt set.
