Rear Bumper Side Mounting Support (Right) ?️

This right-side rear bumper mounting support is a small but critical body hardware piece that keeps the rear bumper aligned with the quarter panel and absorber. It is needed anytime the bumper corner feels loose, sits uneven, or after a minor rear impact where plastic tabs and mounts get stressed.

How It Works

The support acts as a locating guide and anchor point. It locks the bumper cover edge in the correct position, spreads vibration loads, and helps the bumper sit tight against the body lines. When installed correctly, it prevents corner “flapping,” reduces rattles, and maintains consistent panel gaps.

What Happens If It’s Broken ⚠️

A cracked or missing support can cause the bumper corner to sag, separate from the body, or rub paint off the quarter panel. Over time, vibration may damage nearby clips, tear the bumper cover mounting holes, and allow water and dirt to enter behind the cover, speeding up corrosion on metal brackets.

Technician Tip

Always check the bumper clips and guide retainers on the same side before fitting the new support—mixing worn clips with a new mount often brings the rattle back.
