Engine Undertray Edge Seal – OEM‑grade Replacement
This sealing strip closes the gap between the lower splash guard and the chassis. It blocks dust, water, and road salt, stabilizes cooling airflow, and cuts cabin noise. Ideal when the old strip is cracked, flattened, or missing after off‑road use or curb contact. Also known as engine under cover seal, splash shield seal, or undertray gasket.
How it works ️
Made from heat‑resistant elastomer, the profile compresses along the perimeter of the under cover. Once clipped in place, it forms a continuous barrier that guides air through the radiator and keeps debris away from belts, pulleys, sensors, and electrical plugs. The molded lip also damps vibration, so the panel doesn’t rattle.
Why you need it
A proper seal keeps components cleaner, maintains stable engine temperatures, and lowers NVH. It supports the splash guard at speed and helps protect service fluids, wiring, and connectors from grime and splash.
When failed or missing
You may notice dirt in the engine bay, wet alternator or pulleys, belt squeal, reduced cooling and A/C performance, and higher temps in traffic. The cover can sag or scrape, clips may break, and long‑term corrosion or intermittent sensor faults can appear.
