Front Stabilizer Bar Bushing (No.1) for Toyota

? This small rubber mount is a big deal for ride comfort and safe handling. It supports the front stabilizer (sway) bar where it clamps to the chassis, keeping the bar steady while the suspension moves up and down.

Why this bushing is needed

The stabilizer bar reduces body roll in corners. To do that smoothly, it must pivot without shifting side-to-side. This bushing cushions the bar, cuts vibration, and prevents metal-to-metal contact.

How it works

Inside the bushing is a shaped bore that hugs the sway bar. When the wheels move unevenly, the bar twists; the bushing flexes and allows controlled rotation. It also keeps the clamp tight so steering feels firm and predictable.

What happens if it’s worn or broken

⚠️ A damaged bushing can cause clunks over bumps, squeaks in cold weather, and loose cornering feel. The bar may shift, increasing body roll and stressing end links. Left too long, it can lead to uneven tire wear and reduced stability during quick lane changes.

Technician tip

βœ… Replace in pairs for best balance, and check the sway bar links and brackets at the same time.
