Front Strut Top Support Mount for Toyota Vehicles
This is the upper mount that secures the MacPherson strut to the body. It centers the strut shaft, absorbs road shocks, and keeps alignment stable. Built with a reinforced steel plate, high-grade rubber isolator, and a smooth-turning bearing, it provides quiet steering and solid ride control for daily use and rough roads alike .
Why this part is needed ✅
The mount carries vehicle weight at the tower, isolates vibration, and lets the suspension move freely. It also allows the strut to rotate with the steering, protecting the spring, shock, and chassis from harsh impacts. A healthy mount keeps camber and caster in the correct range and prevents noise.
How it works ⚙️
Three studs bolt the plate to the tower while the center sleeve holds the strut rod. The rubber layer damps impact and road buzz. On steering models, an integrated bearing or Teflon race lets the spring and strut turn smoothly with the wheels, reducing friction and memory steer.
What happens if it’s worn or broken ❗
Expect clunks over bumps, popping when turning, wandering, and uneven tire wear. Steering can feel sticky or notch. Severe failure may cause metal-to-metal contact, distorted towers, blown strut seals, and unsafe handling—especially in emergency maneuvers.
Tech notes
Replace in pairs. Torque to spec with the car on the ground. Inspect coil spring seats and bearings. Ideal as an OEM-grade replacement for many Toyota front suspension setups ️.
