Front strut top support mount (RH/LH) π
This upper support secures the MacPherson strut to the body and isolates road shock. Built for precise steering and quiet ride, itβs the key interface between suspension and chassis, keeping geometry true and comfort high.
Why you need it π‘οΈ
It absorbs impacts, filters vibration, and holds the strut at the correct angle. The support also keeps alignment stable and lets the strut rotate smoothly while you steerβvital for safe handling and even tire wear.
How it works π§
A reinforced steel plate is bonded to a highβdurometer rubber insulator with an integrated thrust bearing. The strut shaft passes through this assembly. The bearing allows lowβfriction rotation when turning the wheel, while the rubber cushions noise and harshness and spreads load into the strut tower.
What happens if itβs worn or broken β οΈ
Clunks over bumps, popping while steering, heavy or notchy wheel feel, wandering, uneven tire wear, and longer braking distances. Severe failure can cause metalβtoβmetal contact, bent strut rod threads, or tower deformation.
Tech notes β
Replace in pairs, torque with weight on wheels, inspect spring seat and bearing, then perform a 4βwheel alignment. π οΈ
