Outer Steering Socket Kit for Nissan
This outer steering socket kit is a key wear item in the steering system. It connects the steering rack movement to the front wheel knuckle, so your Nissan can turn smoothly and accurately. When you steer, the socket joint allows the wheel to pivot while still holding a tight, controlled link to the rack οΈ.
Why this part is needed
Road shocks, potholes, and constant steering load slowly loosen the joint and threads. Replacing the kit restores proper steering response, keeps alignment stable, and helps prevent uneven tyre wear .
How it works
Inside the joint, a hardened ball-and-socket design lets the linkage move up and down with suspension travel while transmitting left-right steering force. The protective boot and grease reduce friction and corrosion, extending service life.
What happens if itβs worn or broken
A damaged joint can cause knocking noises, steering vibration, wandering on the highway, and poor return-to-center. If it fails badly, you may lose accurate control of that wheelβan immediate safety risk β οΈ. After installation, a wheel alignment is strongly recommended.
