Upper Left Rear Shock Mount Bracket for Heavy-Duty Suspension

This mount secures the rear shock to the body on the left side. Built for rugged use, it keeps the damper aligned so the suspension can control bounce, absorb bumps, and stabilize the vehicle at speed and off-road. Precision geometry and reinforced steel prevent flex and noise. OE ref: 48517-60011.

Why you need it

A strong mounting point is essential for shock efficiency. When the anchor is firm, the damper can do its job—reducing body roll, braking dive, and rear axle hop. This means better comfort, tire grip, and trailer stability.

How it works

The bracket locates the shock eye bushing and spreads loads into the chassis. Under bumps, it resists shear and torsion while maintaining correct shock angle. Proper fit and torque keep the bushing centered and quiet.

What if it’s damaged ❗

Cracks, rust, or ovaled holes cause clunks, wandering, and uneven damping. The shock can leak early, tires feather, and stopping distances grow. In severe cases the shock may detach, risking loss of control.

Tech notes

Inspect for corrosion, weld tears, and fastener stretch. Replace bolts if pitted. Clean mating surfaces, align the shock eye, and torque to factory spec with the vehicle at normal ride height to avoid bushing preload.
