Rear Spring Bumper Sub Assembly
This rear suspension bumper is a small but critical protector mounted near the rear spring area. Its job is to control hard suspension travel and keep the chassis from slamming into the axle or suspension arm when the vehicle hits potholes, speed bumps, or carries heavy load ?.
Why this part is needed
When the rear spring compresses fully, the bumper acts as the last cushion. It reduces metal-to-metal contact, limits over-compression, and helps keep ride height behavior stable under load.
How it works
The bumper is made from high-density rubber/urethane-like material that progressively compresses. As suspension travel increases, it absorbs impact energy and spreads the force into the mounting point, protecting the spring seat and nearby components.
What happens if itβs broken
A damaged bumper can cause harsh bottoming-out, loud thuds, quicker shock absorber wear, and uneven rear handling. Over time, it may lead to bent mounts, cracked bushings, and premature spring and damper fatigue β οΈ.
