Rear Spring Bump Stop for Toyota Bus Suspension ?

This suspension buffer is the small but critical cushion that limits the rear leaf spring travel. It prevents metal-to-metal contact when the axle compresses on big bumps, keeping the ride quiet and protecting the frame, leaf packs, and shocks. Built from tough elastomer, it resists oil, road salt, and repeated jounce. If you carry passengers or cargo, this part keeps the bus composed and safe.

How it works ?️

Mounted to the chassis above the rear spring, the bumper meets the spring at full compression. Its progressive rubber profile absorbs energy, slows the last part of suspension travel, and spreads load evenly across the spring seat. This reduces harsh impact, axle wrap, and vibration, and helps the shock absorber stay within its working range. Side-specific geometry ensures proper alignment on both right and left.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Signs include loud clunks, harsh bottoming, body shake, longer braking distances on rough roads, and wandering in corners. Continued use can crack leafs, deform brackets, loosen U-bolts, and cause tire cupping. Inspect for cracks, hardening, or missing pieces; replace in pairs for balanced ride. Bolt-on install—clean threads, use new hardware if corroded, and torque to spec per service manual.
