Rear Lower Coil Spring Insulator (Right/Left)
😀 This small rubber cushion sits between the rear coil spring and the lower spring seat on your Toyota suspension. It may look simple, but it plays a big role in keeping the ride smooth, quiet, and safe.
Why this part is needed
The rear spring carries vehicle weight and absorbs road shocks. The insulator prevents metal-to-metal contact, reduces vibration, and helps the spring stay correctly positioned during bumps, cornering, and braking.
How it works
As the suspension compresses, the coil spring twists slightly and presses into its seat. The insulator flexes like a pad, spreading load, damping noise, and stopping the spring from rubbing the perch. It also helps protect the paint and prevents corrosion on the spring end.
What happens if it’s worn or broken
When cracked, flattened, or missing, you may hear clunks, squeaks, or a grinding sound from the rear. The spring can shift out of alignment, causing uneven ride height, harshness, faster spring wear, and damage to the spring seat. In severe cases, handling can feel unstable on rough roads.
