Rear Upper Coil Spring Isolator (RH/LH) for Toyota SUVs
This rear upper spring seat cushions the coil against the chassis, cutting noise, vibration, and harshness. It centers the spring, keeps ride height stable, and protects the body mount from metal-to-metal contact. Over time the factory rubber hardens, cracks, or compresses. That leads to clunks, squeaks, and uneven spring preload. A fresh Toyota rear coil spring insulator brings back smooth ride quality, keeps alignment consistent, and prevents corrosion where the spring meets the body.
How it works
The isolator is a shaped rubber/elastomer ring that sits on the upper perch. It absorbs micro-movements of the coil, spreads loads across the mount, and damps NVH before it reaches the cabin. It also helps locate the spring tail so the coil stays seated under full travel.
What happens if broken ⚠️
Expect creaking over bumps, rear-end thud, slight ride-height drop on one side, and faster wear of shocks, links, and the coil paint. Metal contact may notch the perch and invite rust. In extreme cases the spring can rotate out of position.
Quality and install notes ️
Direct RH/LH fit. Use with clean perches, align the coil end to the stop, and torque with suspension at normal height. Replace in pairs for even results.
