Front Upper Coil Spring Insulator (RH/LH)
This small rubber seat sits at the top of the front coil spring and isolates the spring from the body mount. It is needed to stop metal-to-metal contact, reduce road noise, and keep the spring correctly centered during steering and suspension travel .
How It Works
The insulator compresses slightly under load, acting like a cushion between the spring and the upper perch. It absorbs vibration, prevents spring βtwangβ sounds, and helps the strut assembly move smoothly while keeping ride height stable side to side.
Signs of a Failed Insulator
When cracked, flattened, or missing, the spring can rub the mount and shift out of position. This may cause clunking over bumps, squeaks while turning, harsher ride, uneven tire wear, and faster wear of the spring seat and strut bearing. Left too long, it can damage the top perch and increase cabin noise.
Why Replace It
Replacing this insulator restores quiet comfort, correct spring seating, and protects expensive suspension parts οΈ.
