Front Control Arm Assembly for Stable, Quiet Ride
Why this part is needed
This arm links the wheel hub to the chassis subframe and sets wheel geometry. It carries braking and cornering loads, keeps the tire flat on the road, and filters vibration through its rubber bushings. With correct geometry, your sedan tracks straight, brakes true, and rides smoothly.
How it works β
The steel arm pivots on two bushings and a sealed ball joint. As the suspension moves, the bushings flex to absorb shock while the joint guides the knuckle through a precise arc. This keeps camber and caster within spec, protects tires, and reduces noise. OE reference: 48069-09261.
What happens if itβs worn or broken β οΈ
Expect clunks over bumps, steering wander, shimmy under braking, and uneven inner-edge tire wear. Alignment becomes unstable and ABS/VSC may trigger. Severe wear can lead to ball joint play; in extreme cases the joint can separate, causing sudden loss of steering. Replace at first signs and do both sides for balance.
Install and quality notes
Direct-fit geometry, pre-pressed bushings and joint, corrosion-resistant coating. Torque bushing bolts at normal ride height, then perform a four-wheel alignment. Recheck fasteners after short mileage.
