Load-Sensing Brake Valve Spring Assembly βοΈ
This spring assembly is a key part of the rear load-sensing brake control system. It helps the valve βfeelβ vehicle load through suspension movement, so rear brake pressure matches how much weight the car is carrying. When the trunk or bed is loaded, the linkage changes position and the spring applies the correct counter-force, allowing more stable, balanced braking. β
Why this part is needed ?
Without the correct spring tension, the load-sensing valve cannot calibrate rear brake pressure accurately. This part keeps the valve response smooth and consistent, improving stopping control and reducing unwanted rear wheel lock-up.
How it works ?
The spring stores and releases force as suspension height changes. That force acts on the valve mechanism, adjusting hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes based on ride height/load. Simple design, but very precise in operation.
What happens if itβs broken β
A weak, snapped, or seized spring can cause wrong rear brake bias: longer stopping distance, unstable braking under load, premature rear lock-up, or uneven brake feel. It may also trigger inconsistent braking during bumps.
