Load‑Sensing Brake Proportioning Valve (LSPV) 🛞

This smart hydraulic valve keeps your SUV’s brake balance safe and predictable. It automatically trims rear brake pressure based on vehicle load and ride height, so you get stable stops whether you’re empty, loaded, or towing. Result: shorter braking distances, less rear lockup, and longer pad/shoe life.

Why you need it ⚠️

Proper brake bias is critical on high‑stance 4x4s. Without it, the rear wheels can lock on wet or gravel roads, the front can overwork, and control suffers. This unit preserves front/rear balance for confident, straight‑line braking.

How it works ⚙️

A lever linked to the rear axle moves a spool inside the valve body. Under light load, the spool limits outlet pressure to the rear circuit. As the chassis squats with cargo, spring force and lever angle allow higher rear pressure. The result is adaptive, load‑matched braking every time.

When it fails 🚨

Signs include rear lockup, nose‑dive, ABS alerts, uneven rear wear, soft or delayed pedal, and fluid seepage. Stuck closed = weak rear brakes; stuck open = sudden over‑braking at the rear and potential spin in panic stops. Driving like this increases stopping distance and strains the master cylinder—replace promptly.

Tech tip 🛠️

Set linkage at normal ride height, then bleed the rear circuit. Use the correct DOT 3/4 fluid and inspect the axle spring and lever for free movement.
