Brake Load-Sensing Proportioning Valve Assembly
๐ ๏ธ This brake hydraulic valve is fitted in the rear brake line to balance stopping power between front and rear wheels. It is needed because a vehicleโs rear axle load changes with passengers, cargo, towing, and fuel level. Without correct balance, the rear brakes can lock too early or feel weak.
How This Part Works
โ๏ธ The unit uses a spring-and-piston mechanism linked to the suspension/axle height. When the rear of the vehicle sits lower under load, the valve allows more hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes. When the car is lightly loaded, it reduces rear pressure to keep braking stable and straight.
Symptoms If Itโs Failing
What Happens If Broken
๐จ A faulty valve can cause rear wheel lock-up, longer stopping distance, pulling to one side, or a โsoftโ pedal feel. In severe cases it may leak brake fluid, leading to pressure loss and unsafe braking. Replacing this load-sensing brake valve restores correct rear brake pressure and safer control.
