    Brake Disc Dust Shield / Backing Plate ️

    This sturdy disc brake cover sits behind the rotor and acts as a barrier against mud, stones, and water. Built from corrosion-resistant steel with precise vents, it protects the disc, caliper, pads, and nearby rubber boots while helping airflow for steady, quiet braking.

    Why this part is needed ✅

    Off-road trails and city grit attack open brakes. A proper dust shield prevents debris scoring, reduces splash on pad surfaces, and limits rust on the rotor hat and hub. It extends pad and rotor life, keeps braking smooth, and protects ABS wiring and seals from dirt and heat.

    How it works

    The curved plate mounts to the knuckle/hub and closely follows the rotor. Its lip deflects grit away from the friction area, while reliefs guide cooling air along the disc. After rain or water crossings, it sheds moisture faster, cutting fade and corrosion.

    If the shield is damaged or missing ⚠️

    Expect scraping noises, hot spots, and uneven pad wear. Stones can jam between rotor and caliper, ABS leads may get cut, and splash can speed rust on hardware. Heat buildup may increase pedal pulsation and stopping distance.
