    This replacement caliper body with piston restores strong, even braking. Over time heat, dust, and road salt make the piston stick, seals harden, and slide pins seize. A fresh unit brings back firm pedal feel, straight stops, and even pad wear—vital for heavy Toyota off‑road models and daily commuters alike.

    How it works

    Pressing the pedal sends hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder to the caliper. The piston moves outward, clamping the inner pad to the rotor. The caliper then floats on its guide pins to pull the outer pad in. Square-cut seals flex and help retract the piston when pressure releases, keeping pad drag low and discs cool.

    If it’s damaged or seized ⚠️

    Symptoms include pull to one side, soft or hard pedal, uneven pad wear, hot wheel, brake drag, fluid leaks, longer stopping distance, and warped rotors. Ignoring it risks boiling fluid, ABS warnings, and costly disc and pad damage.

    Install tips

    Use new copper washers, lube slide pins with high-temp brake grease, torque bolts to spec, and bleed the system. Bed in pads for best stopping power.
