Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve

This one‑way vacuum valve keeps your brake booster supplied with steady vacuum so your pedal stays light and confident. It’s essential for safe, consistent stopping, especially on heavy SUVs. A healthy valve prevents vacuum loss when you hit the throttle, protecting booster diaphragms and keeping the engine from pulling air back through the line.

How it works ️

Inside is a poppet that opens toward the booster under vacuum and shuts instantly against backflow. The body is fuel‑ and heat‑resistant, the sealing disc is precise, and an arrow shows flow direction. During cruise it allows vacuum to fill the booster; under acceleration or a stall, it closes to lock in assist.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Expect a hard brake pedal, longer stopping distance, hissing from the hose, rough idle, and possible vacuum‑leak codes. Brakes may feel okay cold, then worsen hot. Ignoring it risks poor braking performance and extra strain on the booster.

Tech notes

Install with the arrow toward the booster, inspect the grommet and hose, and replace brittle clamps. A quick mouth‑vac test should seal one way and flow the other.
