Front Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor for Mitsubishi

Keep your brake system sharp and safe . This front left ABS wheel speed sensor sends precise data to the ABS/ASC ECU so the vehicle can prevent wheel lock, keep steering control, and shorten stopping distance on wet, gravel, or off‑road surfaces.

Why this part is needed

ABS, traction control, and stability systems depend on accurate wheel speed. With a healthy sensor, the ECU can modulate brake pressure and balance traction across axles—crucial for heavy-duty pickups and SUVs.

How it works

A Hall‑effect pickup reads the teeth of the hub reluctor (tone) ring and outputs a clean digital pulse. The ECU interprets pulse frequency as wheel speed. An OE‑style sealed connector and heat‑resistant harness keep the signal steady in mud, water, and heat ⚙️.

What happens if it’s broken

ABS/ASC lights turn on, traction control is disabled, stopping distances grow, the pedal may pulse, and on some trims the speedometer can drop out. The ECU falls back to fail‑safe—braking becomes fully manual, increasing risk in rain or emergencies.

Common causes of failure

Cable fatigue from steering movement, rust in the knuckle, metal debris on the sensor tip, damaged tone ring, or water ingress from off‑road use.

Install tips

Left front hub location. Clean the bore, lightly grease the O‑ring, seat the sensor with a 0.5–1.5 mm gap to the ring, torque the bolt, route the loom away from the driveshaft, connect the OE plug, clear codes, and test drive .
