Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor for Mitsubishi Pickups
This OEM-grade rear-right wheel speed sensor feeds precise data to the ABS and stability control. It keeps braking smooth and straight on wet roads, gravel, or with a loaded bed . If you see the ABS warning, feel pulsing at low speed, or notice longer stopping distance, this sensor may be the culprit.
Why this part is needed
ABS and traction control depend on accurate speed signals from each wheel. With a healthy sensor, the module modulates brake pressure to stop wheel lock, maintain steering, and reduce tire flat-spotting οΈ.
How it works
The sensor reads a toothed tone ring at the hub. As teeth pass the magnetic core, it generates pulses the ECU converts into wheel speed. A sealed harness and tight connector keep the signal stable in mud, dust, heat, and water.
What happens if it breaks
ABS and traction shut off, warning light stays on, rear wheels can lock during panic stops, and brake distance grows. You may feel chatter, rear hop on rough surfaces, uneven pad wear, and cruise or hill-start assist may disable.
Install tips
Soak the old sensor with penetrant, clean rust from the bore, never strike the tip, route the loom away from the tire, and lock the plug until it clicks. Clear codes and road-test to confirm.
