Brake Master Cylinder Assembly οΈ
This hydraulic unit is the heart of your braking system. It is needed to convert pedal force into stable brake fluid pressure, sending it to the calipers or wheel cylinders for smooth, predictable stopping. Inside, precision pistons and seals build pressure and keep the system closed, while the ports manage fluid flow and quick release after you lift your foot.
How It Works
When you press the brake pedal, the pushrod moves the internal pistons. Brake fluid is compressed and distributed through the brake lines. Balanced pressure helps each wheel brake evenly, improving control and shortening stopping distance.
If It Fails β οΈ
A worn seal or scored bore can cause internal leakage, leading to a soft pedal, sinking pedal, longer stopping distance, or uneven braking. External leaks may drop the fluid level and allow air into the system, risking brake fade or sudden loss of braking power. Replace promptly and bleed the system to restore firm, safe braking.
