Rear Brake Caliper Seal Repair Kit ️
This repair kit is needed when the rear brake caliper starts to weep fluid, feels sticky, or the piston does not move smoothly. Inside a caliper, high-pressure brake fluid must stay sealed while the piston slides in and out. Fresh seals keep that pressure tight and protect the piston from dirt and corrosion.
How it works ⚙️
The main hydraulic seal holds pressure during braking and slightly “rolls” to help the piston retract after you release the pedal. The outer dust seal blocks water, sand, and road salt so the piston and bore stay clean. Together they maintain even pad contact and stable braking.
If the seals are damaged
Worn seals can cause fluid leaks, a soft pedal, uneven braking, dragging pads, overheating, and premature rotor wear. In severe cases you may lose braking power and contaminate pads with fluid, making the vehicle unsafe.
