Front brake pad hardware clip set
This set includes the stainless abutment and anti‑rattle clips that sit in the front caliper bracket. They center the brake pads, add spring tension, and create a smooth, low‑friction surface so pads slide freely. Proper clips mean quiet operation, even wear, and confident stopping in city and off‑road use ️.
Why your vehicle needs it
Heat, mud, and rust fatigue the original clips. Replacing them during a pad service restores correct pad clearance, cuts squeal, and prevents binding that can cook pads and rotors.
How it works
Rails support the pad ears; spring tabs preload the pads to stop chatter. By controlling pad movement and vibration, the clips reduce noise, resist corrosion, and stabilize braking under load .
What happens if clips are damaged
Expect rattles, squeaks, uneven or rapid pad wear, pulling, longer stopping distance, hot wheels, and rotor glazing. In severe cases: dragging caliper, warped disc, or ABS chatter in bumps ⚠️.
Tech notes
Clean bracket lands; remove rust under the clip. Install dry to bracket; use a thin silicone brake grease only on pad ears. Do not bend springs. Replace on both front sides for balance.
