Rear Drum Brake Shoe Set for Mitsubishi SUVs & Pickups

Why this part is needed

Rear brake shoes provide the biting surface that slows your truck and locks the wheels when you set the handbrake. Replacing worn shoes restores straight, quiet stops, firm parking brake hold, and confidence when towing, hauling, or driving off‑road.

How it works

Hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder moves the wheel cylinders, pushing the shoes outward. The friction linings clamp the inside of the drum, turning motion into heat. Return springs pull the shoes back when you release the pedal. Correct lining material and radius keep noise low and braking smooth.

What happens if worn or broken ⚠️

Thin or glazed linings cause longer stopping distance, pedal travel increase, pulling to one side, vibration, and fade on hills. Poor parking brake grip can let the vehicle roll. If a lining cracks or separates, it can score the drum, overheat the fluid, damage cylinders, and severely reduce controlβ€”especially in wet or muddy conditions.

Tech notes ️

Always replace in axle pairs. Clean the drum, inspect cylinders and springs, lubricate contact points, adjust the star wheel, then bed in with several gentle stops. Choose OE‑match size for drum diameter and shoe width to ensure proper fit.
