Steering Rack Dust Boot for Toyota SUVs
This heavy‑duty rubber bellows shields the rack‑and‑pinion from road grit, water, and stones. It seals the inner tie rod area, keeps grease clean, and lets the steering move freely. Why you need it ️
Without a proper rack gaiter, dirt and moisture attack the rack teeth and inner tie rod joint. That speeds up wear, increases play, and can turn a smooth wheel into a noisy, vague one. A tight boot preserves steering feel and protects expensive components.
How it works
The concertina design expands and contracts as you steer, maintaining a dust‑tight seal. Inner and outer lips clamp to the rack housing and tie rod with bands, keeping lubricant in and contamination out for consistent, light steering effort.
