    Steering Rack Dust Boot (Bellows) – Shield for Your Rack and Pinion ️

    This flexible bellows seals the inner tie rod and rack bar from road grit, water, and mud. Built from ozone‑resistant rubber, it keeps grease in and contamination out, protecting the steering rack for smooth, precise control .

    Why You Need It

    Without a healthy steering rack boot, dust and moisture attack the inner joint and rack teeth. That leads to premature wear, play in the wheel, and noisy steering. Keeping the boot intact extends rack and pinion life and preserves alignment.

    How It Works

    The bellows compresses and expands as the rack moves left and right, maintaining a sealed chamber around the inner tie rod. Its ribs flex under steering load while clamp rings lock both ends to the rack housing and tie rod—holding grease and blocking debris.

    What Happens If It’s Broken ⚠️

    Tears invite sand and water, causing inner tie rod looseness, knock over bumps, stiff steering, and uneven tire wear. Rust can pit the rack shaft and damage seals, leading to power steering fluid leaks and costly rack replacement.
