Steering Rack Dust Boot for Toyota Trucks ️
Shield your rack-and-pinion from grit and weather with a heavy-duty steering rack boot. This OEM-grade gaiter seals out water, mud, and road salt while keeping grease where it belongs—on the inner tie rod joint and rack teeth. Built for tough duty, perfect for large Toyota SUVs and pickups that see off-road, towing, and winter roads.
Why you need it
Without a tight boot, contaminants attack the rack seals and joint surfaces. Steering feel gets loose, corrosion starts, and tires can wear unevenly. Replacing a worn boot is cheap insurance that preserves your rack for the long haul.
How it works ⚙️
The flexible bellows compresses and expands as you steer. One end seats on the rack housing, the other on the inner tie rod. Correct clamps maintain a tight seal and slight vacuum, blocking splash and dust. Direct-fit geometry preserves full steering travel—no trimming.
If damaged
Tears let dirt in and wash grease out. Expect clunks over bumps, sticky return-to-center, seepage at the rack on hydraulic systems, and eventual seal failure. Ignore it and you may face a full rack replacement—costly and avoidable.
Install tips ✅
Match length and inner diameters, seat on the factory grooves, use new clamps, torque the inner tie rod correctly, and finish with a wheel alignment. EPDM compound resists oil, ozone, and temps from -40°C to +120°C.
