OEM-Grade Steering Gear Assembly for Toyota
Bring back tight, confident handling with a high-quality steering gear assembly. This unit restores factory steering feel, reduces play, and keeps your Toyota tracking straight. Built from hardened steel with precision-cut teeth, new seals, and pre-set preload, it delivers long service life and quiet operation. Ideal for daily drivers and fleet use.
Why this part is needed οΈ
Wear in the rack, pinion, bushings, or inner tie rods causes loose wheel response, clunks, fluid seepage, and uneven tire wear. Replacing the assembly fixes wandering at highway speed, restores on-center feel, and improves safety.
How it works
Your steering wheel turns a pinion gear that slides the rack left or right. The rack moves tie rods, which turn the knuckles and wheels. In hydraulic systems, a spool valve and pump add assist; in electric assist, a motor supports the rack. Boots keep out dirt and hold grease, while seals retain fluid or lubrication.
What happens if itβs broken β οΈ
Expect heavy steering, leaks , noisy turns, and increasing play. Fluid loss can burn the pump, metal wear can contaminate lines, and sudden binding can be dangerous. Continued use risks tire damage and inspection failure.
Tech notes β
Includes rack body with inner tie rods and boots (varies by kit). Install with new fluid, flush lines, center the rack, torque to spec, and get a wheel alignment. Calibrate the steering angle sensor on models with EPS.
