Premium Steering Gear for Toyota Vehicles
This OEM-grade rack-and-pinion unit is the heart of your Toyota’s steering system. It turns the steering wheel’s rotation into smooth, accurate left/right movement at the wheels. You need it for straight tracking, precise cornering, stable highway control, and even tire wear. A healthy gear keeps feedback natural and the car safe at any speed.
How it works ⚙️
The column rotates a pinion gear that meshes with a toothed rack. The rack slides and moves the inner tie rods, which steer the knuckles. Bearings, bushings, and guides hold everything true, while boots and seals keep out dirt and keep lubricant or fluid in. On hydraulic setups, a control valve directs power steering fluid to assist either side; on EPS variants, an electric motor adds torque based on sensor input. Built-in stops prevent over-travel.
Why replacement matters
Fresh, tight components restore on-center feel, quick response, and confidence in emergency maneuvers. It also protects tires and the pump/motor from stress.
Signs of trouble
- Play in the wheel, wandering, or delayed response
- Clunks over bumps or when turning
- Fluid seepage at boots or wet subframe
- Heavy steering, uneven tire wear, or EPS warning
If left broken ❗
You risk hard steering, sudden pull, accelerated tire damage, pump/motor failure, or loss of control.
Install tips
Match OE spec, fit new inner tie rods, boots, and clamps. Flush lines, bleed hydraulics or calibrate SAS on EPS, torque mounts correctly, and perform a 4‑wheel alignment. Final road test to confirm straight tracking and quiet operation. ✅
