RH Steering Relay Link Assembly for Toyota 4x4

This heavy-duty steering relay rod (right-hand side) is the backbone of your Land Cruiser’s front steering. It ties the pitman arm and idler arm to the tie rods, acting as the center link that keeps both wheels working together. Built to OE geometry for straight tracking on road and confident control off-road, it features hardened steel, precise tapers, and smooth ball-joint movement for long life.

Why you need it

It stabilizes toe, transmits steering box motion accurately, and damps road shocks. The result is tight steering feel, reduced shimmy, and predictable handling under load, towing, or in rough terrain.

How it works ⚙️

Turn the wheel and the steering box moves the pitman arm. That push/pull travels through this relay link, supported by the idler arm, then out to the tie rods. Low-friction spherical sockets allow controlled articulation while keeping the wheels aligned.

What happens if it’s worn or broken ⚠️

  • Loose steering, wander, delayed response
  • Clunks, vibration, or death wobble over bumps
  • Uneven tire wear and poor straight-line stability
  • Risk of sudden loss of steering if a joint separates

Fitting tips

  • Seat tapers clean and dry; torque castle nuts, add new cotters
  • Grease joints after install; verify free movement
  • Inspect pitman, idler, and tie rods; replace if loose
  • Finish with a professional wheel alignment
