How it works
Inside, a rotor spins with sliding vanes in an oval chamber. As the engine turns the pulley, the unit draws power steering fluid, compresses it, and feeds the rack through the high-pressure line. An internal relief valve stabilizes pressure to prevent overassist and heat buildup.

If it fails ❗
