Why you need it
Without proper hydraulic support, steering becomes heavy, response slows, and component wear increases. A healthy pump preserves hoses, the rack-and-pinion, and the steering valve by maintaining clean, consistent flow.
How it works
Driven by the accessory belt, a rotor spins inside an oval cam ring. Spring-loaded vanes slide out, drawing fluid on one side and pressurizing it on the other. A flow-control/relief valve stabilizes output across revs. Seals, bearings, and shaft keep it quiet and leak-free.
When it fails ⚠️
