Why this part is needed

How it works
The engine belt spins a rotor with sliding vanes inside a crescent housing. As vanes sweep, they draw in fluid at low pressure and push it out at high pressure to the rack. An internal valve limits max pressure, and flow returns through the reservoir for constant assist.
