Power Steering Gear Seal Repair Set ️
This seal repair set is made to restore tightness inside the power steering gear, stopping fluid loss and keeping steering smooth. It is needed when the steering box starts “sweating” oil, the reservoir level drops, or the wheel feels heavy at low speed.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the steering gear, hydraulic pressure pushes fluid through chambers to assist your steering input. The seals in this kit sit around shafts, valves, and internal passages. They hold pressure where it belongs, prevent air from entering, and keep the lubricant/ATF from escaping under high load and heat.
What happens if the seals are worn or broken ❗
Failed seals cause leaks, whining pump noise, foamy fluid, and random steering assist. If ignored, the pump may run dry, overheat, and fail, and the gear can develop internal bypass—making the steering feel weak or inconsistent. Long-term leaks also damage boots, attract dirt, and accelerate wear on the rack/gear surfaces.
