Rear axle grease catcher for Nissan hubs

This precision deflector keeps lubricant where it belongs in the rear axle assembly. Mounted behind the hub/axle shaft, it shields the seal and bearings from thrown grease, road dust, and splash water. With proper containment, bearings run cooler, brakes stay clean, and the axle lasts longer. A smart, low-cost way to protect your driveline on work vans and 4x4s. ⚙️

Why you need it

Without a dedicated catcher, excess grease can migrate onto brake shoes or discs, softening friction, causing pull and longer stops. It also deflects grit away from the seal lip, cutting wear and preventing leaks. Ideal for heavy loads, heat, and off‑road use.

How it works

The rotating hub slings lubricant outward. The deflector’s cup profile intercepts that flow, channels it back toward the bearing race, and guards the seal face. Its stamped-steel form acts as a slinger and shield in one, working with the hub seal to maintain a clean, stable grease film.

When it fails ⚠️

Dents, cracks, or corrosion allow grease to escape and contaminants to enter. Expect greasy backing plates, burnt smell, squeal, bearing play, ABS sensor fouling, and uneven brakes. Left unchecked, bearings overheat and can seize, risking axle and drum/rotor damage.

Fitting tips

Inspect flange faces, replace the hub seal together, clean mating surfaces, and torque fasteners to spec. Do not reuse warped parts; keep edges true and free of burrs.
