Why this part is needed
Restore confident stopping and a firm parking brake with fresh rear brake shoes. Over time the lining wears thin, glazes, or cracks. That means longer stopping distance, noisy brakes, weak hill holds, and scored drums. New shoes return smooth, even braking and protect the drum from costly damage.
How it works ⚙️
In a drum brake, the wheel cylinder pushes the leading and trailing shoes outward. The friction lining bites the inside of the drum, turning motion into heat. Return springs pull the shoes back when you release the pedal, while the self‑adjuster keeps the clearance tiny so the pedal stays high and firm. The parking brake lever applies the same shoes mechanically.
What happens if worn or broken ❗
Expect grinding or squeal, hot smell after short drives, pulling to one side, extra pedal travel, weak handbrake, and shiny grooves in the drum. Ignoring it can overheat seals, warp or crack the drum, and dramatically increase stopping distance.

OE‑spec thickness and arc for Honda Jazz/Fit family, chamfered edges for low noise, durable bonded lining. Replace in axle pairs; clean hardware; verify adjuster and springs; bed in gently for 300–500 km.
