This rubber-and-metal cushion is designed to support the rear differential and isolate vibration from the body. It is needed to keep the drivetrain stable under load, especially during take-off, gear changes, and sudden throttle lift. A healthy mount cushion helps protect nearby bushings, joints, and the differential housing from harsh impacts.
How It Works ⚙️
The cushion sits between the differential mounting point and the chassis bracket. Its elastic core absorbs torque twist and road shock while still holding the differential in the correct position. By controlling movement, it reduces noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) and keeps driveline angles consistent for smooth power delivery.
What Happens If It’s Worn or Broken ❗
When the cushion cracks, separates, or collapses, the differential can shift excessively.
