Why this part is needed
This rubber-insulated mount supports the rear differential and isolates driveline vibration. It keeps the pinion angle correct, reduces noise and harshness, and prevents shock loads from reaching the subframe. The result is smoother launches, cleaner shifts, and longer life for shafts, joints, and bearings. π
How it works
An elastomer bushing bonded to a steel sleeve bolts the differential case to the crossmember. Under acceleration and braking, it absorbs twist and recenters the assembly. The compound and voids in the mount are tuned to filter torque pulses while keeping the housing stable.
What happens if itβs damaged
Expect clunks on takeoff, thuds on gear change, and a rumble at 40β80 km/h. Excess movement can misalign the pinion, causing seal seepage, prop shaft and CV wear, wheel hop, and rear cradle fatigue. Left unchecked, it may crack the housing or deform brackets. β οΈ
Service tips
