Rear diff-lock engagement motor ?
Why you need it
This unit lets your rear axle lock both wheels together for maximum traction. On rocks, sand, snow, or while towing, it forces equal wheel speed so you keep moving when one tire lifts or slips. Without a healthy actuator, the lock may not engage when you need it most.
How it works ⚙️
An electric micro-motor drives a worm gear that turns a sector shaft. That shaft pushes the internal fork to couple a dog clutch inside the differential. Seals keep water out, and a position sensor feeds the 4WD controller, confirming lock or unlock.
When it’s failing ?
Blinking lock light, no engagement, or stuck-locked axle; slow or noisy operation; intermittent function after water crossings; trouble codes for position mismatch. Common causes: corroded gears, torn O-rings, burnt motor, or damaged harness.
Install and care ?
Bolt-on to the axle housing. Set the diff to neutral position, align the fork, torque fasteners, replace the gasket/sealant, and verify harness routing. After fitting, cycle lock/unlock to calibrate. Avoid deep water or pressure washing at the connector.
