Companion Flange Assembly for Toyota Driveline ⚙️

This precision flange links the propeller shaft to the differential pinion, transferring engine torque while keeping the shaft centered and the oil seal seated. Its hardened spline and polished seal journal ensure smooth rotation, correct clamp load, and leak-free operation under heavy load and off‑road use.

Why this part is needed

Over time, splines wear, the sealing surface grooves, and the flange face can warp from repeated torque cycles. Replacing it restores balance, prevents gear oil leaks, and removes vibration that damages bearings and U‑joints.

How it works

The splined hub locks onto the pinion shaft; the machined face aligns with the driveshaft yoke and bolts secure it to the specified torque. A smooth journal runs under the oil seal, keeping lubricant in and contaminants out. Balanced steel construction reduces driveline shudder at speed.

What happens if it’s bad ⚠️

  • Gear oil leaks from the pinion seal ️
  • Vibration under load or at cruise
  • Clunk on takeoff from backlash growth
  • Overheated pinion bearings and noisy diff
  • Risk of bolt loosening and driveline damage
