Brake Caliper Piston for Nissan

This hydraulic piston is a core internal piece inside the brake caliper. It is needed to turn brake fluid pressure into strong, even clamping force on the pads. When you press the pedal, fluid pressure pushes the piston outward, the pads squeeze the disc, and the vehicle slows down smoothly. The piston then retracts slightly as pressure drops, helping the pads release and preventing drag.

How It Works

✅ The piston slides in the caliper bore with a tight seal. Under pressure it moves forward; the square-cut seal flexes and assists the return movement. Correct surface finish and fit keep braking responsive and stable, even under heat.

What Happens If It’s Worn or Damaged

⚠️ A corroded or scored piston can stick, causing uneven pad wear, pulling to one side, overheating, brake fade, and higher fuel use. A pitted piston may damage seals and trigger fluid leaks, leading to soft pedal and longer stopping distance—serious safety risk.
