Right-hand subframe cushion bushing for Subaru – smooth, quiet, precise ️
This rubber isolator sits on the passenger/right side of the front crossmember. Its job is to secure the subframe to the body while cutting vibration and road harshness. When healthy, it locks geometry under load, so steering tracks true, braking stays stable, and cabin noise stays low.
Why you need it ✅
Rubber ages, hardens, and cracks from heat, oil, salt, and mileage. Replacing this mount restores OE handling, reduces drivetrain shake, and prevents knock under acceleration or over bumps. It also protects nearby arms, bolts, and alignment cams from excess stress.
How it works ⚙️
A vulcanized rubber core is bonded to a steel sleeve. It absorbs torsion and shear from bumps, cornering, and braking, keeping the subframe centered. Correct preload and torque at ride height let the bushing flex as designed and control NVH.
If it fails ⚠️
Expect clunks, steering wander, brake pull, shimmy on rough roads, and uneven tire wear. In severe cases, metal-to-metal contact, elongated mounting holes, and failed inspection can follow. Replace in pairs for balanced feel.
