Why this part is needed
The strut is a key member of the MacPherson front suspension. It supports the spring, controls body motion, holds wheel geometry, and reduces dive, squat, and body roll. A healthy damper means shorter stopping distance, better grip, and even tire wear.
How it works ⚙️
Inside is a piston moving through hydraulic oil. Precision valves meter oil flow to absorb energy from bumps and convert it to heat, which is safely dissipated. The top mount isolates vibration and serves as a steering pivot, giving crisp, quiet response.
What happens if it’s bad ⚠️
Oil seepage, knocking, nose dive, extra bounce, pull on braking, and scalloped tires show failure. Driving on a worn unit increases braking distance, stresses bushings and CV joints, upsets ABS/ESC over bumps, and can misalign the wheel.
