OE-Spec Front Suspension Ball Joint Assembly
Why you need it
This compact joint keeps your front wheel hub pivoting true while supporting vehicle load. It holds alignment, stabilizes braking, and keeps the tire footprint flat on the road. When the socket wears or the boot cracks, you’ll hear clunks, feel shimmy, and see uneven tire wear. Replacing it restores quiet steering, straight tracking, and safe handling .
How it works
A heat-treated stud rides inside a greased spherical socket. The joint links the control arm to the steering knuckle, allowing smooth up/down suspension travel and left/right steering angles. A sealed boot keeps grit and water out, while preload keeps the stud tight for precise response.
What happens if it’s worn or broken
Play grows, alignment drifts, tires feather, and braking feels vague. In extreme cases the stud can separate—resulting in sudden loss of steering and a collapsed corner ⚠️. Early signs: squeaks at low speed, knock over bumps, wandering, and off‑center steering. If there’s vertical play at the wheel, replace promptly.
