RH Front Lower Control Arm — precision steering and ride stability
This suspension arm links the front subframe to the steering knuckle on the passenger side. It locates the wheel, holds alignment angles, and carries braking and cornering loads. Replacing a tired arm restores straight tracking, quiets knocks, and protects tires and hubs. Choose it when you feel play at the ball joint, see cracked bushes, or after pothole or curb impact .
How it works
A forged arm pivots on two rubber bushings at the chassis and a sealed ball joint at the knuckle. As the strut moves, the arm controls wheel arc, keeping camber and caster in spec. Bushings filter vibration; the joint lets the knuckle steer and travel vertically. Anti-corrosion finish and heat‑treated stud handle high loads.
If the arm is worn or broken ⚠️
- Clunks on bumps; shimmy when braking
- Steering pull, wander, poor return
- Inner-edge tire wear, noisy tires
- ABS/traction warnings from unstable wheel path
- In extreme cases the wheel can tuck under
Fitting notes
Tighten bushings at ride height, then align. Renew hardware if stretched; replace in pairs for balance. Free seized links/bolts carefully. Road‑test and recheck torque after 100 km ✅.
