Front Upper Left Suspension Control Arm Assembly οΈ
This suspension arm is a key link between the chassis and the front wheel hub on the upper left side. It is needed to hold the wheel in the correct position, keep alignment stable, and let the suspension move smoothly over bumps while maintaining safe steering control.
How It Works βοΈ
The arm pivots on strong rubber bushings and connects to the steering knuckle through a ball joint. As the wheel moves up and down, the bushings absorb vibration, while the ball joint allows controlled steering movement. This keeps camber and caster angles close to spec, improving tire contact and braking stability.
Signs of Failure & What Happens If It Breaks β
When worn or bent, you may hear clunks over potholes, feel wandering steering, or see uneven tire wear. If the bushings split or the ball joint gets loose, alignment will not hold and braking can pull to one side. In severe cases, loss of joint integrity can cause dangerous wheel misalignment and poor road control.
