Oxygen Sensor Assembly for Cleaner Running & Better Fuel Economy ?
This oxygen sensor is a key feedback part in the exhaust system. It is needed to help the engine computer fine-tune the air/fuel mixture for smooth power, low emissions, and stable idle. When the mixture is correct, the catalyst works efficiently and fuel consumption stays under control.
How It Works βοΈ
Mounted in the exhaust stream, the sensor βreadsβ the oxygen level in hot exhaust gases. It sends a voltage signal to the ECU, which instantly adjusts injector pulse and, on many engines, supports catalyst protection strategies. Most modern units include an internal heater, allowing fast warm-up so the system reaches closed-loop control quickly after start.
If the Sensor Fails ?
A weak or dead sensor can cause rich running (fuel smell, black soot), lean running (hesitation, higher combustion heat), poor MPG, and increased emissions. You may also see a check engine light, unstable idle, slower throttle response, or catalytic converter damage over time if ignored.
