Front Oxygen Sensor for Hyundai & Kia
This sensor is a key part of the engine fuel control system. It measures the oxygen level in the exhaust and sends a signal to the ECU, so the car can correct the airโfuel mix in real time. When the mixture is right, you get smoother driving, better fuel economy, and lower emissions โ
.
Why this part is needed
Modern Hyundai/Kia engines rely on fast and accurate exhaust feedback. This front sensor helps the ECU keep the mixture close to ideal during idle, cruising, and acceleration. It also supports stable catalytic converter operation.
How it works
A heated sensing element warms up quickly after start. As exhaust oxygen changes, the sensor voltage/resistance changes. The ECU reads this and adjusts injector pulse and fuel trims within seconds.
If itโs broken or weak โ ๏ธ
You may notice rough idle, higher fuel use, hesitation, fuel smell, failed emissions test, or a check engine light. Long driving with a faulty signal can overwork the catalytic converter and cause expensive damage.
